Important Things To Know About Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a power tool for everyone use at every point needed but the problem is, some people have considered it a sin if they forgive or I say they've considered it a cheat  if they forgive their offenders.

Everyone with different perspectives about forgiveness, but the fact remains in Jesus words that says "forgive and you shall be forgiven"(Matthew 6v12). 

What baffles me most about unforgiving people is that they knew or have heard this word..."forgive, and you shall be forgiven" but yet, they still harden their mind to hold something against another for years! 

And the truth is, all their sins are also pending - unforgiving by God because they've also refused to forgive another. With this action, we are doing ourselves more harm than good.

Truly, there are some offenses that you would be like.. "I can never forgive him" because we considered it very big and cruel but I tell you, there is no offence greater than our offences to God and yet He forgives us if we come to Him with a heart of repentance. No matter what anyone might have done to you, you need to forgive for you also to have peace of mind and also forgiveness from God.

Some months back, I was having a conversation with a lady and she said, "i can never forgive my dad, it's not just possible". Despite revealing to her what forgiveness means, yet she refused. Then i told her, "it's not also possible for God to forgive your sins". It's as simple as that.

When Jesus said if someone offends you continuously, forgive them 70 x 7 times (Matthew 18v22), I was wondering can someone offends another 490 times? We can see how God is so merciful and forgives our countless sins?

In conclusion, never have grudges against anyone. This world is so small. The act of forgiving also gives one peace of mind; Your mind will be free to all your offenders when you see or remember them.
